today I miss my mother –

oh,

thoughts of her
always linger
along my edges

and

an emptiness
ever prevails
there—
where her smiles once resided

vacancy flashes
in neon glow

and

there are those days,
when the signs of her missing
are brighter than on others . . .

today,

I miss my mother

If I wander far enough, long enough, will I finally know . . .

Thank you for this, Susan.  I'm looking at day number six of missing my mom.  There's a long way to go, isn't there?..

Susan and Nan,

I wish there was something I could say or do to take the hurt away.  Know that I care.

just the random phone calls, "Hey guess what I got today?"
"I don't know Mum, what?"
"Dad had 10K stashed and I found it!  So I spent every cent.  Got a a new stove, a new refrigerator......"

LMAO  she was sooooooooo much fun.

remember the fun.

Love them or hate them

My one comment of my mother's I remember was someone who said to her "it's his birthday".

She said "I know, I was there".
