THE PEOPLE’S POPE

One billion Catholics round the Earth
Are in mourning for Pope John
And although He will be laid to rest
His Gentle Spirit will move on.

His Great Legacy of all those years
Will be a part of our History
Out of the Oppression in Poland
To the Freedom of the Papacy.

Some say He was the Power
That brought Communism’s falling
And He brought millions to the Church
Who had never heard the calling.

He was respected by the People
Of all the Faiths, not just His own
The most Popular and Loved Pope
The Modern World has ever known.

He will be missed by this World
For there will never be another
And He will, “Be not afraid!”
On His Journey, to that Other.

A beautiful tribute... and you're right... You don't have to be Catholic to be mourning the world's loss.

Thank you for the loving tribute to Pope John Paul II, the Man of peace.

Yes he will be missed, but his message lives on.

Love, Margherita
