Watching, as though they were not
Curious elderly monuments
Stoking my revealing dark
Mannerisms furnish southern belles
Climbing the eyes of those feelings
In my soul’s strongest colors
Like artless ages there within
Waiting in tone and musical modulation
My taste, flying to an uneven
With vehemence & burning
Fit for my larger clothes,
Hanging in the closet of source
Waiting….
Sky-scraping with cerebral force
Scattering fancy, holding up immaturity
Of wonder and surprise, while I
Check off fairies and dragons
Going where their passions survive
Their exaggerated face
Renders a truth men never have
Removing their Halloween masks
Pruning uniforms of seeping death
Unlocking sterility to chaste
Less predominant in method, yet
Leprechauns mature with peculiar pleasures
Where numbers bleed like their Gods
Gifting a nation of warlike poetics
To a touch of some phantom organism vein
Diverting fierce proverbs liberal
Gorging like ravenous beasts
Drooling uncontrollable
Spreading like a warm stream
Cloning a cheerful heart
Unto the ocean of Cupid’s pointed arrows
Untimely hero, devouring the blackbird of my soul
Keeping our appointment with fate
Pushing forth my ship in the waves
Metaphorical hours filled with tenderness
Winking an altered songster barbarous
Like a heretic with psyche powers
Into my womanlike darkness, her prowess
Prone to melancholy soft emotion
Bittersweet, easily believed as illustrious scenes
An aura of rude magnificence shoving
Green here and there, with the spoils of chieftains
Coveting the cares of men, becoming worthy songs
Stroking the gray hairs of life
Hunting me…dwelling in the winds of nature
Soft, leeward nature witnesses
Smiles & listens to these peculiar adventures
Of birth, growing like grass in a rock
Where dreams acent wider with crosswalks
Fatter, then any age on earth
Where antiquity marinates a language
Only you understand…it is there our souls
Become testament in some profound reflection
In a sea of conception
Your eyes hold my stare

There are a few generalazations in this that might make a gentleman shudder...

But it is reality explained by your experience here that makes this vulgarman realign some held thoughts...

This is what good poetry does, urges self examination....

Thank you for the poem.

I love the trip I take when I travel your words - so many images and thoughts - ideas and feelings - enjoyed my friend -

If I wander far enough, long enough, will I finally know . . .

eclectic, eccentric, and surreal, but it made smile by line 2 and has pasted it there the rest of the night.
