the age of  rock throwing
grew into the years of fortification
and the building of walls thick enough
to withstand assaults from
either side

the sun grew weary of rising
on two different sides
it grew feint trying to illuminate
the impassibility of the wall

time and providence brought the days of softening
and piece by piece the chinks fell
until no amount of patching
could hold the wall up
right

not formidable as had been determined
the other side momentarily
beckoned as if it too
were glad of the
falling

first ventured a tiptoe
and then both feet firmly crossed
into the land of
contention

previously set in stone limits
admonished prudence lest
love forget how easily
truces can be trespassed

traversing the landscape
littered with stones
remnants of walls now weakened and tumbled
forward progress slowed to a pace
acceptable to change

and from Above with the Love
and Understanding that crosses
all boundaries the Wall Breaker’s gaze
encompasses the next one

I love this, lady... especially these lines

the sun grew weary of rising
on two different sides

and thus... so much darkness. But you've written a beautiful epistle of hope... a reminder that light does come again. *S*

jellybeans

This reminded me so much of my father's fude with his next door neighbor.  He claimed that part of his property was on the other side of his neibor's wall....and his neighbor then refused to mow those few feet right before his wall.  It was a silly thing to me, the little girl, but a lesson too.
