Saluting with misty eyes

0 posted 2005-03-30 09:44 PM

Lost into the soul
Beyond the veil of light
As he passes on his way
Leaving in his wake
The trail of destruction
Hearts ablaze with love and hatred
As thoughts of his life flash by
In the minds of those left behind
To suffer the slings and arrows
Of his outrageous fortune
Rich, indeed, he was
In the love he held to his own
Children
Both
Thoughts held close
As he drifts through the ether
Choirs to the left of him
Choirs to the right
Angels leading the way Home
As tears
The prayers of loved ones
Subside in the distance
Leaving him free
To travel
Into the light

The idea from this came from /pip/Forum7/HTML/000554.html
I know I didn't meet the challenge, however I figured I would torture you all with the results anyhow.
lol

In the wooden chair
Beside my window
I wear a face born in the falling rain

Thank you both for the kind words... I had forgotten about this one, to be honest with you.
lol

They took pictures of our dreams
Ran to hide behind the stairs
And said maybe when it's right for you, they'll fall
