Deep in my heart there lies a poem...
one about feeling lost  but then coming home.

I cried lost tears
into the lake of loneliness..

Yet still
     held hope from a string
        of delicate things ~

You gave me silver shoes to dance in,
          a silken tongue
           moon shadows...

   such cadence in foot-music-

every tongue-speak slippery fire,
from you my lunar tendencies,
  from you my blind desire.

You encouraged me to sip inspiration
        from the pool of life..
             and I did:

Wrapped in the certainty of you
I listened   to a song   from a distant shore
no more felt the tug of longing...

and realized  I had come home

to your love that had always been there
to the poems yearning for breath and air.

There's no place like it, and I'm so happy for you, Nancy.

You express yourself in so many lovely ways, and it becomes you, beautifully.

Nancy

Home isn't a place, is it?...sometimes it is a person whose love holds you.  This was a lovely demonstration of that.

Nancy, what a warm sense of home and belonging. Such a delicate and expressive quill you write with.

"Poetess" must be your second name.

So many beautiful and touching lines, Nancy. But I love the one I've highlighted. I can certainly relate to this and it brought such joy of remembrance to my heart.

Thank you sweet friend. Hugs, Marti

Your arrangement of short lined stanzas are a perfect match for your subject, as well as the well chosen picture...

A poem of beauty and grace....enjoyed

Just the very best of how you can phrase deep thoughts in short words and lines and just knock our socks off.  Beautiful lovescape.  Ken

The yawn of a dawn will hasten the light
