there is snow in the eyes
of the wind
the ground makes soft regret
that fits the feet
when the quiet ones walk

I have rubbed the dark stones
they are worn drums
with scars
that moan as wolf thoughts
from their soul place

the promise of tomorrows
is bound in leather
it is woman without water
and the cold hand men
feed her air for food

they hid her god
under layers of lie trees
then burned them
when she rested
now they offer her perfume

from the smoking deception

May she rest soon,
and be at peace
after all this time...

Thank you, DS...

Let us never, ever forget.

An excellent poem DS...worthy in its own right and as an expression of the truth in this situation, peerless.

Your heart is showing, and I so enjoyed seeing through it.
It's your best side, you know.

Loved the tender mercy, DS~

There's so much beauty in this one.  I love the way you use language.
