At dusk
Beneath the white blossoms

On a road
Leading West
To the wide blue sea

You asked if I’d like
Some fruit from your basket—

Some wine from the valley
Cool and sweet

You could post these with pictures....exquisitely open and sweetly balanced line drawings created with black and brightly colored inks and a one-bristle brush....

...on second thought, there's no need. You already do exactly that.

RL,

Thanks.

This thing is more a like nod of affection
to a poet whose sense in the her lines,
(like Wang Wei), has had me always
alert to new translations.  There is such
beautiful humanity that crosses the ages
in her simple verse, I wanted to do something
to both express my regard and draw attention
to her being.

Thanks again for reading.

John
