Drumbeats cry outloud

A wailing Nation's heartbeat

Some souls flew away

Love your words Midnight

Hope you dont mind some thoughts

Dave

Death stalks subdued

Scythe missing a Nation's heartbeat

Of souls flying home

Dixie, thank you, for that thoughtful reply.
A Nation is hurting, and we can only open our hearts, offer silent healing thoughts.

Thanking each of you for spending a moment here.
majnu! hope you come back to read this one again. Where the heck have you been? India? Thank you very much for that generous reply. I cannot hold a candle to what Berkeley must offer in the way of social enlightenment, but am honored by your words. Majnu, you have been missed, my friend.

Very good lament, Kacy

I often repeat,
we are all one people.
My heart also wails,
Over the drumbeats meaning;
What child will be next
To wear the deathshirt
With a foul pill lodged in its heart?

Death in ruined heaps
Lay, the slayer and the slain;
Mock of Columbine?

To make others weep, was why?
Blood stains on a trail of tears.

Some flew away...

   Someone said "Stirring".  Yes, especially with the current events, I find this very stirring.

Well expressed.  I could say more, but I can't talk right now-too well done.
