Small were the fingers wrapped
in curve of tender hold
touching, reaching
for tomorrow....

        and growing

Echoes resound
days of innocence
worn on sleeves of youth
when children's laughter was heard.

Oh!   What precious sounds
escaped the mouths of babes

and smiles were born
to live on
in cherished hold of heart.

Like a small seed
leaning towards the light
always seeking, climbing;
rising to the sky...

Yes, blowing in the wind
and asking why,
sometimes bending
to and fro
at times uncertain,
of which way to go...

hold on steadfast,
strong and true
and if clouds move in
to make you blue
don't be afraid
to take my hand...

       know that I love you
                and understand.

Time will pass
and today will move on

  Yesterday remembers......

   fingers wrap in curve
        of tender hold~
         touching, reaching...
             together we'll grow.....

The quietest noise I'm told
is the sound of letting go..
Eddie/Troy

How lovely, soft and gentle Donna..
Much enjoy your writing of late.
~Sending warm hugs your way~

For it was not into my ear you whispered
But into my heart
It was not my lips you kissed
But my soul

As I am fond
of yesterdays
and memories,
this title speaks
for itself...

but the inward hold
of love
is tenderly fragile...
not grasping
at what will be,
but nurturing
all that will be.

Ofttimes one of the measures of the beauty and import of a poem, is not by the number of replies it receives, but by the thought that readers put into them. The responses you received were thoughtful and appreciative of both your talent and the feelings that your words evoked in your readers.

We identify with what you write, Gentle Spirited One. You speak for all of us at one time or another in our lives.

Hugs with love,
Linda

For my daughter yes...
she will be thirteen very soon
and I thought I might give this to her.
(cuz we all know how teenage years
can be hard..
on both child and parent   )

Thank you all, for such lovely and kind
replies. Hugs and peace ya'll

*faint* teenage years are hard?  NO??

I would rather run naked, in a parade, with zombies chasing me and MTV filming it all rather than to do teenage years again...

good luck with that Donna!!!

As for the poem...beautiful!  She should be moved by it as was I.
