Visiting Earth on a Guest Pass

I posted this a few days ago and took it right back
down again, thinking that it might upset some
people to see a side of me that I seldom show, and
maybe offending some others in other ways.

That's bothered me ever since -- this is a big part
of me, of who I am, and though I don't show it
often I should be able to. So, my apologies n
advance if anyone's upset or offended...but this is
Ed too.

I AM

I am an adept, though I never sought to be.
I wonder why the world lies strangely open.
I hear the spirit’s song and
I see the silver strands all shining;
I want to follow their lead, and my own.
I am an adept, though I never sought to be.

I pretend not to know why
I feel the other sides of real, why
I touch so easily what others cannot see.
I worry that I may do harm;
I cry at the thought, but still
I am an adept, though I never sought to be.

I understand the demon now.
I say I don’t fear him anymore, and
I dream of our next battle, know I’ll beat him again.
I try to hold my strength in check, resolute, waiting.
I hope that day comes soon. It is my life, for
I am an adept, though I never sought to be.

Yes!!!!

You are a marvelously complex man... but every layer is fascinating... no part of you should be denied. Neither should this beautiful poem be denied... I'm so glad you reconsidered. *S*

You are real, my friend... and I thank you for this look at you. *S*

And... (hey... you knew I was more wordy than that! LOL)... there's this line

I worry that I may do harm;

That's so indicative of the man you are... and why you need not worry. *S*

It is difficult to hide one's true nature from those who read copious amounts of one's poetry. The very nature of writing poetry is an expressing of one's self. All aspects of you, Dear Poet, that have come to the light of day through your illustrious words, have endeared you to your readers!

well, this didn't offend me, and quite frankly, you, are more the adept...but a very fine poet, deeply inspired and truely unmatched to none.

Ed,
That feelimg of being "outside" the mainstream is disturbing. These are uncharted waters where compasses and maps are of little use, and often the outcome is not as expected. Best of luck in all that you do.

And I already KNOW that I'm a great judge of character !!!!!!!

I can find no cause for anyone to be offended by this because it shows a depth and sensitivity few are capable of.  I'm so glad I was able to read it being as I am somewhat restricted with internet access.

I had taken it down because I was told that very directly by someone who found it offensive and who knew at least one person who would feel threatened by it. Later on, I realized that I was offended too -- by feeling that I had to walk on eggshells -- and since I'm somebody too, I decided not to do that anymore.

Hey, my true friend ... that eggshell walking takes lots of talent ... but TOO MUCH ENERGY that could be spent on other things, ... right ?
RIGHT !!!

I'm SO *HUGGING* you~

Stomp on along now, ya' heah ?
Be yourself ... and no one can find fault with that ...
(well, not and still be considered credible anyhow)

You are most assuredly somebody too... and a most wonderful somebody you are... all the myriad aspects of you. *S* I can't imagine anyone wanting you to be less... or silent. *S*

So... if you and Marge could use an extra pair of feet... I volunteer! *S* We'll turn those eggshells into powder! LOL
