Out Making Anticlines

When A Memory Must Do

The wind brings nothing,
not even a seed tuft
from some distant meadow
out there where the mountains
hover over a gray horizon.
Still I search this shining
lupine sky until my eyes blear,
looking for a sign,
any sign that you are there.
Failing, I turn inward,
fall into my own blue distance
knowing that there, patient
on the rim of that same
haze green summer hill
I’ll find you, waiting
as you ever wait for me.
There, my soul bare
to the wind and sky,
I know that I am not alone,
even as I know that
when you had searched your sky
for me, there was a moment when
you turned within to seek
this very place of memory where,
patient until forever, I wait for you.

----------
Because this is a special day for me, and
one on which it is so very hard to be alone.

With the depth of feelings this conveys... particularly in the last line... I suspect any day alone is heartbreaking.

May your search be rewarded, my friend... this is incredibly lovely and loving.

I feel a very special moment etched within this beauty~

Still I search this shining

looking for a sign,

Jamie

"this very place of memory where,
patient until forever, I wait for you."

The good thing about a memory is, that you can take it with you wherever you go...and take it out any time you wish...but the down side is that it can make you sad or wistful.  In the long run, I think a memory is far better than nothing at all, don't you?

There is so much emotional impact in this poem....I can feel how big the love is that caused it....and love is a good thing.

What a beautiful, emotion packed write.
So very much enjoyed the read.
~Sending hugs your way~

For it was not into my ear you whispered
But into my heart
It was not my lips you kissed
But my soul

Best poetry I've read today. You make the reader feel as if they were there with you feeling your thoughts.

I suspect there are times when you both travel there simultaneously...one never knows how often.  Do you realize how often you force me to clear another shelf in the library?  I understand why it is a special poem to you.

This was an especially fine poem that you gifted your readers with today. The beauty and depth of emotion were almost palpable.

May you be making warm memories today for your tomorrows.

Sending you an extra warm hug,
EA

Jamie, this was so extremely heart felt...soft and sensual bittersweet gripping both inside and out...knowing she's out there...looking over the ocean, out into the horizon, silently yearning for you to come closer, closer still, until each others eyes can be read...and the overwhelming winds smile the words....finally, your here...

reading this was like an out of body experience...
