My spirit aches to be among these kindred souls
Who call to the morning through upturned arms and sturdy charms
Green finery and endless pockets always empty and full

There I listen to the conversations of the dove and the red wing
Bearing spring a “look at me” sing without asking for permission
Answered back in prohibition, thereby “who”? calls superstition

Drawn in a wider smile, brighter style of articulation
Rises too inside the choreography of graceful congregation
Dusting out the choke of bustling noise and engine smoke

Cross-legged the prayer fire that feeds my empty stomach and heart
Always a bargain of two for, in the taking as a give more
In the center of a grove as wild things rove and render tender

Still a sapling in the company of hardwood stretch and bender
High bows put to task of windbreak mask return to sender
And I still feel so small among it all with thirsty roots that suit the lender

Such a story, one of the willow, so different...yearning to experience that
which the others have and take for granted
as just part of their lives....so alike
our own, huh?  Excellent Kay....again you
amaze me and have me in awe of your words.
Your "good" is great and "great" is
beyond measure.

Kathleen~
What soft beauty ... yet amazing strength and resilency comes through in the penning~

I shall keep the thoughts of some of this with me on this day~
