it is Sunday
my hair feels like a mass of leaves
i stare at the daffodil
at her spilling, at my fingers
at my life
that is held inside my hands
in criss-cross curvy paths

and I did not enter church
like Christ entered Jerusalem
to receive his ghost
and the olive branch

no

I did not exchange any
“peace be with you’s”

and i knew in the crystalline knowledge of you

No?

Then we have a date, don't we?

And yes, there are days when I wear my bad mood like chain-mail armor, as you, my dear heart, have probably learned by now. sigh.

Love you m'lady? and if I can't wish you peace? How 'bout a little serenity?

Maree, my friend....you don't need to enter a church to find something holy.  Those things above are life and beauty and therefore holy.

Simple tunes the ear to listen...as the heart hears it's own song, and reverberates the sacred sweetness.
Liked this...fresh, and captivating in it's strength.

I often find His sanctuary
underneath His open skies...

this is extremely personal,
and telling, all in a very
few words...

There is so much to be said for the olive branch.
I like all that it implies, and I don't think you need
to go to church to extend or accept it.

God is love, and he/she understands.
