I am a giver and receiver, a scholar, and a teacher
I wonder when mankind will gain a sense of mind
I hear a mother’s plea for a son to feel her near
I see no blight on health in the realm of ever after
I want to be the treasure discovered by a lover
I am a giver and receiver, a scholar, and a teacher.

I pretend I am the light when life heralds in the dark
I feel mystical delight will triumph over strife
I touch only on the outline of life’s deep mysteries
I cry for love’s withdrawal from the center stage
I am a giver and receiver, a scholar, and a teacher.

I understand that time is the leveler of souls
I say the bond of love exceeds mortality
I dream of open hearts and simple honesty
I try to stand upright when bombarded left and right
I hope one day to be a reflection of the truth
I am a giver and receiver, a scholar, and a teacher.

Sounds much like my Dad who died this Madri Gras Week - Especially the opening line. And
I'm sure you can't be him reincarnated this quickly so I'm not gonna say .. "Hi Dad!!".

Loved it and the memories it invoked.

Helen, this is a wonderful answer to the challenge.
Extremely well done and so much enjoyed.

"I say the bond of love exceeds mortality"

I have no doubt.

Helen, this is wonderful and in my heart I feel it fit.

A line I wish I'd written.

~ You took the words "write" out of my mouth! ~ Mind you, Bunches of Honey, you expressed them more eloquently than I ever could have.

"I am a giver and receiver, a scholar, and a teacher."

Thank you for giving us a beautiful glimpse of the beauty of you!

Love & Light,
EA

Thank you all so much for the read and your gracious comments.  I'll no doubt be back after a breath of sea air.

a breath of sea air...

oh, I am there with you on that, in spirit...

the "teacher" part made me smile, and think of my mother-in-law...for she shares your attributes...
