At last I have some time my own
But this day’s full of misery
Stymied, I’m sitting all alone
Wishing for what will never be

My former home’s a place of pain
I’ve running start on endless fall
For games, I have only disdain
But I managed to drop the ball

I’d give you all I have to give
But there’s no hope of light ahead
This breathing hell is how I live
I sleep with tears and wake in dread

Hugging you real tight sweet lady.

For it was not into my ear you whispered
But into my heart
It was not my lips you kissed
But my soul

You've penned a well-said tale that never tires in the telling.  Laments for that lost one seem never to end, but they do. Ken

The yawn of a dawn will hasten the light

Tears tend to be soul cleaners, my friend. They may hurt to use but each carries away a little of the pain. Waking in dread, unfortunately, is never easy.  We always dread that which we don't want, can't believe, refuse to accept, but with time and tears...even that becomes easier.

My heart holds yours tight...

This breathing hell is how I live

some lines just kick us in the chest and knock the wind out of us...

it takes a powerful pen to write it out with such emotional honesty...yours is a mighty sword.

suthern,
You write pain very well. If it's any consolation, my heart goes out to you.  Be well, my suthern friend.

I know the feeling Laura...I truly do. Hang in there, eh? Things are never as bad as they seem, even if they're never as good as we hope. It'll work out.
