Listening to every heart

0 posted 2005-03-19 08:33 AM

I AM

I am curious and stubborn, so much so that
I wonder at my successes and failures.
I hear voices of the heart and
I see endless horizons, as
I want only the best for others, because
I am curious and stubborn

I pretend that I will be happy, for
I feel those who have passed on, and
I touch those souls who walked before.
I worry, sometimes, of a too soon…and
I cry tears that no one sees.
I am curious and stubborn.

I understand flexibility, so believe that
I say truths even when you don’t want them; and still
I dream of pleasant times to come.
I try my hand at all possibilities, so that
I hope that my dreams find their reality, for
I am curious and stubborn.

Curious and stubborn....yeah, that works, but there are a whole bunch of other words I'd choose, if I were writing a poem called "You Are".....

You are brilliant and poised.....

You are subtle, yet direct.....

You are giving and demanding.....

You are sensual but reserved.....

You are kind and so careful.....

You are tactful and discrete.....

You are loving and patient.....

There ya go, seven new starts -- and I've barely scratched the surface.

You may be curious and stubborn..
neither of which is a negative trait.
But, you also are a caring, sensitive beautiful person!
Fine job on this challenge hip-Sis.

For it was not into my ear you whispered
But into my heart
It was not my lips you kissed
But my soul

It is nice to look and see your self portrait - and I really like Ed's response - you are lovely -

I think Ed's response pointed out something that's struck me with each reading of one of these challenges... even the most honest and heart-searching poem merely skims the surface... there's so much more. *S* Now... if you'd be so kind as to write one poem for each of his opening lines??? LOL

When good lauds are lauded
As I come in late,
But still I applauded.
(I tripped at the gate)
One phrase I'm not seeing
(I checked them all out)
You're determined in being
Your own self, no doubt.

This was really a pleasure to read.  Ken

Through rubble and trouble and dark of night
The yawn of a dawn will hasten the light
