Ultra Liberal Nightmare

Headstone with Waning Lips
Turn signal ingenious
…to itself
Folds, without charge, hypnosis
Remembering “the dream”
Leaning into night eye journals
Somewhere on a superimposed podium
Breathing down lazy subconscious
Slow motion relax
Savage tackles…hard knocks
So hard it hurts

I call them back, hysterically
Free lunches
They don’t hear me
But go for the jugular
Gripping like a departing child
A grinning, Sylvia Plath
In her last moments
Singing like a quiet rain
Mouthing words
Through a window of no return

Moving to find hope
24 hour fingerlakes
Persistent vision left behind
Desperate dialogue, gone wrong
From parts unknown,
Tour running dry, parched
On the edge of long shadows
A fleeting look of honesty
Showing me unyielding wind
Howling
Steady and true
With scars to weary to heal

Eye to eye, moving nearer
I shake the moments
Like a torn up reflection
I’m angry
I give a damn out loud
Where I never thought I’d be
Standing on frozen ground
Complete despair
Faces stiff with homelessness
Brush stroking cold retreats
Knowing the risks
Embracing self sufficiency
Feeling fear, shame,legacy
Shrewd perception
Battered heart
Knowing, it’s time to believe

I awaken in feathers
And a voice of reason
Where experience leads me

Wow.  This was an eye opener.  Made me think of someone in physical restraints, or in a coma, but able to understand all that is happening around them, yet unable to indicate that.  Sorry, for my view, just came out as I read.
Excellent write Lee J.  Enjoyed.

"I give a damn" out loud - yes - me too -

If I wander far enough, long enough, will I finally know . . .
