...this is the OOPS piece that wasn't and possibly never will be...I feel I can NEVER be equal to OOPS...hope it works at least a little though...j.

Room to Room

Going room to room I try to remember. . .
Everything,
Everything you ever said,
every dress you wore – or didn’t.
Everything you ever did that I noticed,
and all the things I never saw
but want to now.
Stopping in the doorway of the room we shared most,
I look at the vanity where you sat so many times
smiling back at me from the mirror,
and I feel in my heart the skipping that always occurred
when you caught me there.
I see that old night shirt of yours
across the arm of your chair,
your slippers sitting there . . .
I inhale slowly, deeply –
look up at the bed where you lay,
sheet tucked around your chin,
waiting – waiting
for me.
