Game of the Week

Light gathers in the boat basin,
inviting reflections of all sorts.
It parties in the wavelets,
then, like some church goers,
mistakes itself into the low, dull finish
of cleats spaced evenly along the dock.
Alone, fiberglass proclaims the righteous,
its white gel coat and blinding perfection
demanding sunglasses.
In the slip adjacent
a woman suns
with that meticulous nonchalance
that can only be described
as 'God given'. Though refraining from worship
I remain on my knees,
polishing the brightwork
and praying for extra innings.

Thank you, Lee. I've never thought of the beauty I attempt to describe as "my own", but hearing you say it, I suppose it is. Thank you. Bob

Now, THIS is a good day...
especially when you're at the top
of your game.

For it was not into my ear you whispered
But into my heart
It was not my lips you kissed
But my soul
