She now speaks
in whispers,
her voice a soft murmur
in hush of breeze...

                I hear her calling

faintly,       somewhere in the distance
and I catch a scent
that reminds me
of yesterday
when skies o're head
weren't so gray,

and I plead to see
all that has been
hidden from me
       and I pray
to hear
her voice more        clearly

but still it remains,
           distant, so distant....

Strain as I might
to tune into the sound
it seems my spirit
is somehow bound
         to bleed emotions
to my pen

until I can feel her
once again....

Fault?  I do not know...

has she forsaken me
or was it I
that forgot         to try

and I wonder
would I still know her
if we were to meet again.....

somewhere
in the distance.

I really want to care,
I want to feel something,
let me dig a little deeper...
NAH, still nothing...
my give a DAMN is busted....Jodee

Gray days end....know that. The sun's always up there, just waiting for a chance to shine on you!

it is the distance which draws us...if we do choose, to a place of submission, dear sweet music...as your words provoke...the brilliance of you shall prevail....but a moment in time is all, but a moment in time

gray skies?

they mean what we assign them, you know?

label gray better than black and work your way up.

The velvety grey foliage of  'Dusty Miller' or the fragrance of grey sage...soothing greys.   Distant sounds have a way of returning sometimes, embracing you within a circle.

I remember pleading for the same things once...My dad, how I miss him.  I love the sensitivity with which you write; also like the presentation with all the pauses in just the right spots! They give readers time to travel in remembrances of their own.  Touching...

You have done this well here, GS....

The emotions of this poem speak loudly from your pen.

Enjoyed

Oh Donna,

this hit way too close to home, especially today.

I search for her too . . .

Just know I understand and she will return, maybe just not in the exact same shape as she left.

Your writing is blowing my mind.
I am so proud of you.

Donna, Suzie is so right..
You are soaring with your writing..
I know this feeling...this grey day feeling.
Sending heart hugs your way.

For it was not into my ear you whispered
But into my heart
It was not my lips you kissed
But my soul

I liked this, the flow was nice. But who is the "she" that you're talking about?
