I Wash Each Day

I wash away each day of grime
With soap that’s made of passing time
And dry myself each daily breeze
The same that moves the stately trees

I watch the clouds that fly above
The changing colors that I love
Where birds add mix with butterflies
And shows a moon that turns the tides

I walk the paths were walked before
And store the memories of its awe
The core of life that shows each day
Each life that passes on its way

And though I know each path of wend
I cannot speak beyond its end
I pay the price of time and toll
And have my doubts about a soul

And what I know for sure is strange
That all I know for sure will change
