(Here's a happy little sing-along to prepare for the spring, yay! Just another one of my playful, hippyism, children-friendly melodies, with this song simply being about how simply having a child in your house could lighten everything up!)

Anabella's Dream House
By: Noah Eaton
3/12/05

Saturday evening she walks over from next door,
jump-roping in her pajamas on the living room floor,
singing throughout the night Disney sing-along songs,
blueberry cupcakes on Dixie plates and cherry soda pop,
beady eskimo blue eyes like an Ichimatsu doll,
youthful spirit brighter than Christmas in a shopping mall,
"Take it as it comes" her celestial static sings in dreidel,
sit back on the bean bag chair and honey in my coffee, well...

With her we smile a lot,
who would have ever thought,
that this sort of place could be another's dream house all the same...

...it makes my heart soft even if I know this all may change...

Monday afternoon the school bell has rang,
so we all know what to anticipate,
playing hopscotch across the driveway,
I'm safe, I'm neutral, hip-hopscotch-hooray,
Annie, come over, let's Annie Annie Over,
Piggie wants a signal, cats get your corners,
what's your trade, ice cream and lemonade?
this neighborhood watch has formed into an easter parade...

With her we smile a lot,
who would have ever thought,
that this sort of place could be another's dream house all the same...

...it makes my heart soft even if I know this all may change...

Summer vacation's begun, we walk down Tillamook Street,
to cool down on the waterfront at the Salmon Street Springs,
come for the misters and bollards, stay for the wedding cake,
we walk home in wet Birkenstocks down the wisteria lane,
Her neighborhood's her world and our house is her dollhouse,
she keeps us on our feet, keeps us laughing out loud,
our living room has become a sugar mill,
lilliput lemon twist walls and daffodils on our windowsill...

With her we smile a lot,
who would have ever thought,
that this sort of place could be another's dream house all the same...

...it makes my heart soft even if I know this all may change...

With her we smile a lot,
who would have ever thought,
that this sort of place could be another's dream house,
this sort of place could be another's dream house all the same...

...mmm hmm hmm...

Noah, I know that you knew how much I would enjoy this poem! I was smiling as I was reading every line ~ to the point that my cherubic cheeks were hurting! Gosh I love these fun, spirited, charming, colourful writes for you! They are magical!

~ and she sounds almost as delightful as you yourself are!

Love you, Angel Boy!
