Awaken my love . . .

Denounce the quiet of your resolution
arising from a virgin dusting.
Consummated by the somber shadows of winter.

I have indulged myself for far too long.

Embracing the choir of your children,
tulip and daffodil,
buried within your bosom,

Plumed in darkness.
Wailing, since the onset of frost.

Lift the veil.

Sing your sweetness
across the eastern shore.
Let your voice echo in the valley,
migrating across our waters.

Brush your breath, fervid
as an artist at his easel.
Heed the ice, my sentinel,
examine each crack and bleed
sailing, as gossamer, upon the wind.

Raise your voice, Sister!

Bid farewell, the Ice Princess.

Spread your palm, fingers splayed
upon her own, barren and glacial
and lead her,
in love,

to paradise.

"Raise your voice, Sister!

Bid farewell, the Ice Princess."

You manage to write resolve with a gentle flair, Sistah!

and everything I said before, still stands.

Brava, littlewing, Brava.

I'm keeping this for several reasons, little one...

Karilea - if I whisper, will you listen?  Keeping in mind, I must stand close...and keep my promises...

Through you i can see her now,
skating across the frozen tundra
the rain that frosted her shoulders
now melts within the iridescence that
connects the seasons. safe now, she drops
her guard and becomes the first kiss of spring.

I like the imposing and stately styling co-mingled with free verse -- it makes it distinct from strophed out prose -- a comfortable blending that lends a tone of majesty to the subject.

the new picture is nice too

Encouraging and inspiring,
the title fits perfectly
because after hearing this
anyone in their right mind
would take heed and begin again, with boldness.

Awesome write.

Hello Sue, Love the new picture! Is it a photograph or a sketch? Your lips look very kissable!

'embracing the choir of your children' there's something so beautiful and sad about that, and is even more so surrounded by the rest of the words...

I have indulged myself for far too long.

Embracing the choir of your children,
tulip and daffodil,
buried within your bosom,

Plumed in darkness.
Wailing, since the onset of frost.

Love it. Keeping it. x

It's writing like this that causes me to call my pathetic attempts "scribbles". I, once again, stand in complete and humbled awe at your talent.
