Of Fireflies

I caught a jar of fireflies
And brought them up before my eyes
And there I saw a veil of light
That lit the bright of dreams at night

It was a sight of valley’s green
Where flowers interlace the scene
And shadows danced among the trees
To senses I could not believe

They winked at me illusions coup
To dance the dance desires rue
And ride the magic’s carpet ride
Within the dark of thoughts abide

And as I soared above the earth
And looked upon each thought of birth
The fireflies blinked shades of red
And I dear lord, fell out of bed

It’s then I saw some other stars
Without the aid of holding jars

I shouldn't have laughed at your falling out of bed ~ but it was somewhat unexpected and how you described it elicited a bit of a giggle out of me.

I enjoyed the visuals of your night of rapture!

May your day be full of sunshine (that's "sunshine" with a small "s"! lol)~ and watch your step!

Oh my Sy!  You mean it was only a dream?
But it was a lovely one even with the bump on the head.
I think this sunny morn you may be needing a cup of Chai tea?
~Morning hugs & tea, Nancy~

Seymour~

You sent my memory
on a treasured trip
Remembering fireflies
in youthful flit
Across the lawn of me
in night-tinged revelry~

I love this memory stirring penning, my friend~

Well, that ejected a chuckle from
my sick body, and a couple of coughs
as well.  If laughter is the best
medicine, you'd best stir me up
another cup of tea, Sy...and add
plenty of sugary chuckles, please!

LOL, I didn't see that twist to the ending coming Sy!  Too cute!  We've got many fireflies out here where we moved. They lit up the lawn for weeks last summer, and it was truly mesmerizing. It really was almost like a dream, lol.

Loved this Sy.

Best wishes and hugs,
/Kit

Needed this today, Sy...seems I'm a bit late, but maybe that was God's intention.   [Maybe God knew I would need those smiles and giggles today...]

Thank you for the smiles and the memories of summers past in this one...how I loved those fireflies...

Hugs, m'friend!
