Far from where I am going

he sat here before me
on these steps
watching the world slip by
at the tone of midnight
always by moonlight
the wind carried his thoughts
throughout the streets.
"what was it all for
those futile actions
past-tense regards
affecting future minds
stringing along misconceptions
and malicious racism
it led us all to the break point
and never mended.
accept my apology, please
generation forthcoming
it was only a decision
that i see now
should've been more tnder
and less in haste.
forgive me."
connected by sympathy
a long distant voice
echoed within the blades of grass
and became a guiding tear drop
within the sapphire night
following the soft wind
as it carressed my face
alon a predestined path
i took hold of past remorse
and understood.
i forgave mistakes of old
moving on with my own
in an attempt
to redeem and prevent
event of synonymous nature
from surfacing within
the minds of my generation.
