October Turned

Beneath the leaves of grass
between the spread of your fingers,
beyond the roots,
buried beneath your cheeks
enclosed in pants,
I see you . . . I hear you,
I know who you are.

Vultures cloaked in black – heralds
smelling the scent of your lies,
you always did have ready tears –
don’t drop them here,
they burn with deceit
               even through the dirt.

October Turned.
Geese flew south,
Leaves fell and died
and I joined them in the ground,
hidden by your lies,
but I see you. . . I hear you,
I know who the Ravens call.

Vultures, smelling death,
soar in the sky above the trees
beneath which you sit,
shedding false tears . . .

October Turned.
The pangs of winter fill your soul.
Too late for remorse,
and tears, first time real,
drop meaninglessly on fallen leaves.

But I see you. . . I hear you,
I know who you are –
We know
    who the Ravens call.

"October Turned" - A title I've had laying around for the longest time so finally just threw something on it, but not the warm, sensitive thing I always envisioned.

This time it sounds like October turned on someone. When the reader can feel the emotions, whether harsh or kind...the poet has hit the mark.

This is a different sort of a write for you Jimmy...at least to me it is. I like it. It's dark, but I like it.

hugs, Chris

Hi Jimmy and Good Morning, this was indeed a treat, to read your lovely heart...I'm sorry this must be an experience for anyone to suffer...hugs to you sweetie,

and thanks so much for taking the time to read my poem and comment with such study, concern and kindness...I will keep trying, and yes, now that you've pointed it out to me, it is like a rant...

Hugs to you

Not warm and sensitive, like you say, but powerful, poignant and deeply lived....I very much enjoyed   ~P
