LOOK UP!
~ Linda L. Dowd ~

+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+
Raise your gaze skyward,
Don’t stare down at the ground.
Keep your eyes on sunny skies,
To keep from feeling down.

Fluffy clouds transport us,
To places far away.
Away from all the hum-drum,
Of the ho-hum average day.

The blues of skies are peaceful,
And calming to the soul.
By looking at the heavens,
Our troubles take less toll.

From set of blazing sun,
To rise of tranquil moon,
The sights we see above us,
Keep us balanced and in tune.

I don't know why Linda, but while reading this could hear the song...and I'm not sure of the title..."Keep your Head Up"  was it Kansas or Journey?

Anyway, such a lovely morning song you've given in hopes for others...this is one of those lovely poems you press between a book, to gaze upon later....thank you

The last stanza is very true.

A soothing poem that reminds the reader to look up when things are down...enjoyed

Oh girl, you are so right about this.  When I spend too long inside I get down down down.  Just being out to see the sky makes all the difference.

I believe you must be feeling my mood!  I needed to read this today!  I think I'll
put it in the library for rainy day, too!
I love your spirit!

It's a very good thing I read this Linda. We're have a dreadful snow storm and the wind is blowing and I'm not having fun on top of my mountain.  Brrrrr!!!!!

But, I know behind these flakes, there is sunshine and blue skies.

Thanks for the reminder.  Luv ya, Marti
