When land is far from sight
It matters not sun or moonlight
Just a boat between the blues
The light with white of the skies
And dark deep blue he rides,
Yet this loneliness he does choose,
Away from the firm land
Beyond the touch of soft hand,
The other loves of his life
But sailing is his greatest passion
Smooth or rough sea he’s on
No matter the boredom or strife,
He’ll take his hoard of gold
And fill his empty hold
With lovelies for his home and wife.

The first port where he lands
He buys a rug made by skillful hands
And extra canvas that could be sail,
A keg of water and a box of tea
And a shirt with fine embroidery,
Then sends a letter by overland mail.

His second port is a Island
Where in orchard the women toil
And the men squeeze olives for oil
Then drink wine till they can no longer stand,
He sips and buys a few bottles fine
Because it really is excellent wine,
And with keg of virgin oil leaves the land.

To be continue . . .

I like your style mister, always deemed it not right to use someone for lonliness...

This was beautiful...and similar feelings to someone else I know...smiles and hugs for a wonderful journey...

Moving right up to the next
