Listening to every heart

0 posted 2005-03-03 07:03 PM

Leap of Faith

It’s
standing on the edge
peering over
amazed at the idea
of being bold

It’s
taking a chance,
grabbing for the brass
that rings clear
in your heart

It’s
laughing hard
in adversity’s face,
imagining a light
in the dark

It’s
going against odds
believing the dream
taking the chance
every day

It’s
listening to faith’s voice
there, in your dream,
taking its hand
indulging ~ the love of the leap.

This...for the men behind the adventure
of the Global Flyer...

This...for all of those who take the perspective
of doing it for themselves...

This...for every poet who knows.

Karilea - if I whisper, will you listen?  Keeping in mind, I must stand close...and keep my promises...

I think I know...

If tears could build a stairway and memories a lane, I'd walk right up to heaven and bring you home again.

This was BEAUTIFUL, Sunshine!!   I loved it!!  The leap of faith is some thing I think I am starting to REALLY get the hang of over the past few years of my life.  In fact, getting ready to make another one here really soon...

I will be keeping this one!!!

Hugs to you! --  Becka

and the miracle is you're loved...

Such wisdom from a grand lady and poetess
who certainly knows the feel of the leap
as well.  Bravo to them...and to her, for
all she gives us.

Been a while since I've taken that old leap. Sometimes we find ourselves too afraid!

Hope all is well with you, Karilea.

"the love of the leap", indeed..

"Oh! I have slipped the surly bonds of Earth
And danced the skies on laughter-silvered wings,
Sunward I've climbed, and joined the tumbling mirth
Of sun-split clouds -"

( John Gillespie Magee Jr.-excerpt- "High Flight")

"This...for every poet who knows."

Every poet slips the "surly bonds of earth"
each time we pick up a pen... as you have proven by this poem.

Ah, but what about those poets that have forgotten more than they've ever learned?
Just kidding. Great stuff.
