If was after dark found in the park
Left on the bench was her coat
Looking didn’t find a single word or rhyme
She left the world not a note

On the retaining wall one shoe did fall
From where it was she did place
But the other stayed from water
The fallen floated off without a trace.

The chill of the wind drove me away and in
On a night like this I could not go far
Snow chilled my feet and I searched for heat
Finding it soon in a warm local bar

Week eyes adjust slow where much smoke does blow
And each patron was filling an ash tray
This bar was not for thinking but for heavy drinking
And passing sad and lonely time away

I found some mist in a place like this
It had a wide variety of hard liqueur
And with drink in hand I defiantly would slam
Two then three then I saw her.

At the table by the phone she sat all alone
In a new coat, shoes and looking pretty
So fourth drink in hand I did carefully stand
To slowly walk over to this fantasy.

I stood there a while till at last she did smile
And softly asked me if I’d like to have a chair
So I drained my glass and sat down too fast
And asked her how she happened to be there

“My sadness has gone so I’m now moving on
I left behind gifts to those once like me
The coat and shoes that others cold might use
Now that I’ve moved back into society.”

We then left together into the wintry weather
And she hailed a passing yellow taxi
Dropping me home then went on alone
Gone now following her new destiny

sounds like you love her
maybe it's not too late to stop her

I hate to see people going their own ways

Thank you, passing shadows,
Pleased you enjoyed,
But what’s love got to do with it
It’s only a story.

Nightshade,
Prequel then

I guess nothing Gloom.
Maybe love doesn't have anything to do with anything. Just something on the side...a story to tell to anyone who will listen when age sets in.
