when morning came by the window
wearing peach colors
on her horizon
I heard the steps
and the windows rattled
as she brought us some wind
and pushed it in

just enough to let me know
you were presenting a chilling
response to my eyes again
even though you were still sore
at me, just a little you said
for making up a life time
in one night or was it three

you couldn't remember the seams
of where they fit and ended
but that was ok now
long as it didn't stop
and you could always be you
this way with me, this way
and did I like the shapes

of the fruit on your tree
how it fit my hands and mouth
did I want to pick some now
just another taste perhaps
or not pick anything special
and just keep everything
you had to offer

as if it were a lovely part of me
