over the potholes and through the woods
to the interview, I shall go
my car knows the way
and I hasten to say
I look forward to this Saturday
as smiling all along the way I shall say

"I'll meander along that highway
and cross whatever gravelly patch you throw at me,
and all along the way, I will still be smiling"

as over the potholes and through the woods
to the interview I shall go
to try for a job to manage a rural area food bank

yes,  that's what I said

and if you, my dear poet friends
have a moment to spare this Saturday,
I ask for your heartfelt prayers and support,
to follow me as I venture forth
over the potholes and through the woods
to the interview,
I shall go.

Thanks friends, and while you are wishing me well, send some fast healing thoughts for my 17 year old daughter, Sara.
Within seconds of posting this write, I got a call from her at the horse barn that she had been kicked by one of the stallions she is helping to train. WHAM! one broken collar bone, so we just got back from ER *sigh*
It could have been so much worse, so we are very very thankful tonight.

Thumbs up, Kaci.  I'm sure you would be dynamite!

I enjoyed your version of the catchy song!

I just read about your daughter.  I'm sending prayers her way, too.

LOL, thanks friends! At this moment, Sara is munching popcorn and watching a Rurouni Kenshin anime video. You cannot keep a teenager down for long. Happy to say, though she is outta commission for horse training for at least two months or more, she knows she is a very very lucky young lady. Two or three inches in another direction, it could have been either her chest or her face that took the full force of the hoof, so we feel pretty good it's a broken clavicle.
And I will still make it to that interview Saturday. Keep your fingers crossed, as I want this job!
Toe and LngJohn, dontcha need a copy of my resume first? LOL

thanks friends! and  I shall need all the luck and prayers you can muster for this.
I lost my glasses today! can't find them anywhere, and this interview is in a remote area an hour's drive from home that will take all my skills to find. LOL. But I shall not be thrown off by this setback, though I cannot read street signs without my glasses! However, I managed to pass my most recent drivers eye exam (barely) and am LEGAL to drive sans glasses. Hope I am still in Oregon when I find this place tomorrow. thanks for all the uplifting thoughts!
BTW, the instructions to find it include this: travel all the way to the end of North St-but it is not marked, there is a white church on the corner and a food bank sign by the telephone pole, turn left onto a gravel road with a lot of potholes and go past the last gravel driveway to the right, you will see a garden project on the corner where you turn, turn right onto the last gravel driveway (also has potholes) this will take you into the woods and over the creek and up the hill to the resource center. LOL, yes, those are the last half of the directions. Getting to North St is also a fun episode. LOL, wish me luck! I intend to do this, so you must know, I am a little bit crazy.
