Whimpering storms
Spotlight a voice trembling…mine
Where a heart burst, inside out
Crouching and whimpering
Gorging screams fill the air
I cover my ears….
Empty spaces ricocheting
Flooding my head with unyielding borders
“Oh God”!
I whispered, “Who’s there”?
Feeling blindly in the dark
Then….
His fingers drew across my engraved lips
Like a giant torch light…I flinched
Barely breathing…
Acid blood still warm from those dark rooms
Those fissures that led somewhere,
Seeking revenge…those
Persistent phone calls with dire intent

Hearing a candle buzz like a florescent light
Seeping courage, forced me to look into a
Riddled mass of nerves
I was growing up, right before my eyes
In some ways, I could not account for…

The child in me, turning round
But, He took my hand whispering rhymes
Pulling back my hair
“The numb are done with you” he said
Words left me like a puzzle?
Each one slowly sighing in place
Preoccupied with prompt attention
Not knowing how to presume
I waited
Immobile like a half-sleep

Then, slowly, delicate features with warm eyes
Reached out, like definitions to words
A Champaign cork popped
Moments slowed down
Those stunning smiles of light sang
Like angelic voices, soft and loving
There, I reached a bright lit doorway

Automatically, I knew the combination
Then, I felt Him, pulling back a curtain
I never needed anyone to yearn for me...
I was now, an old woman, staring out across
A suburban lawn
Luminous and Astonishing
Like silent spirits, touching my face transformed

I felt the hours, the years
The blizzard and cold pitched chasms
But somehow, miraculously, they hummed
Of soft puppy fir
Plentiful with melted memories
My thoughts felt like a Holiday
Gentle billowing warmth, infused me
Focus relaxed
While riding the train of thoughts
I felt watched and loved by a stranger
Someone who had been there all the time
Familiar, yet taking me to cerulean seas
Where flowers spoke smiles
White minks played at my feet

Shadows of years were not as big
Houses seemed livelier with conversation
Afternoon had crept forth in silence
And I held those long periods of time
Close, ever so close
Knowing I had curled those edges
Under myself so no one could see

Afraid of opposite doorways
Afraid of not fitting the dog collar of society
Afraid of failing someone
Afraid of failing someone
Afraid my thoughts, might be sold at church bizarre
By men of the cloth who were powerless
But now, I saw the world in the center of a miraculous event
My simplistic dreams
A music box
And one vacation a year to the Jersey Shore
Which others might deem quit boring

I could have yelled for hours
Instead, holding the music box close & content
I drifted off into a brightly lit room
One, that was mine, predetermined in thought...
On the second floor...of my walk up apartment

My muse nudged me
and told me
there's nothing simple
about this,
or her...

and I tend to agree,
for my muse is rarely wrong.

Brava!

something about day dreams
when they happen at night
while we are dreaming night dreams

they make us fearful
but anxious to see
what is there after
we wake within the unawake

I enjoy you lee j
you are lovely windows

“My simplistic dreams

The storm of life all around you, then this verse.  Calming, safe, warm, and comfortable.
Not boring at all, a necessity to revisit your inner core:  Lee J.

This is now my favorite.  Well until your next one.

Amazing LeeJ - simply amazing ... but only what we've come to expect from such an expressive writer.  I'm thinking about this one quite a lot.
