Passing Time

The morning eats the nights convey
The jewels of dew are put away
The dress of moonlight laid aside
The dawn has turned the evening tide

The sun plays on the window sill
The day awakes the whippoorwill
The future knocks upon the door
The sands of time awake once more

Again I stand in fields of green
Purvey the magic of the scene
Watch a canvas of admire
Drink a breakfast of desire

Stretch my arms out to the sky
Wish that I may never die
Shed a tear of tired gray
For years that sift my time away

Its life and beauty that I weep
The falter of eternal sleep

Time passes us all by Seymour - some quicker than others. Aren't we lucky to greet each morn? Especially if we have your wonderful words to embrace us.
hugs, Chris

I think I am feeling this one too closely Seymour. Maybe it's because I have let my hair go white all the way! LOL. best, marty

Awesome poem, I really enjoyed reading it this morning. Thanks
