Snowwhere to Go

There they are those tiny flakes
that cause the world to freeze.
Closing schools before they land
just enough to tease...

Waiting, waiting all I do
for calls to go somewhere.
Instead I'll shovel when it piles
then soak to ease despair.

Maybe ten or maybe twelve
they never get it right
But in the lines at grocery stores
the crowds bought all in sight.

It seems that in this part of world
when snow is thought to come
Tissue, milk and bread need buy
afraid will starve, succumb

To being stuck inside the home
but what does one day harm
What do they do on other days
between the snows' alarm?

Very cutely written. I love snow. Even though I only see it in the mountains when I go.

Poetry is beauty in words.

Snow transforms the world into soft and white and clean and perfect for viewing.
So is your poem.  Ken

Really enjoyed this, especially about the schools.  It's true, many times schools around here close at the drop of a hat--I mean flake!  You rhyme so well!

Smiling here - we are missing our snow - seriously - dryest Feburary on record - oy, what will happen come summer - the poor ski resorts are in a hurt - and yet, I love the sun - oh selfish me!  Can't imagine what it would be like to live where a hint of snow meant panic   - enjoyed this -

I've only experienced two snow falls in my country.  What magical days they were but we didn't have to shovel which I guess spoils it somewhat for you.
