Passion pours forth
Destined in a burst of harmony
Timidly at first, struggling to balance
On tip toes from the limbs of trees
Yet over time, turning broad and supple
Bathing in the sunlight, whispering to the moonlight
Dancing in the rain

As summer ends in certain vibrancy
A last and final day remains un-named
When the wind takes count and scatters passive souls
Hardly leaving an impression on the sky

Yet wrapped in thoughts of you I venture to your meadow
Intrepidly the blade, though I know how deep the cut…how deep the ache
Letting entrance to my secret garden, where the clothes of proper fall the path
Returning to authentic selves, rubbed in berry juice still wet with promise
Daisy chains around my waist to shade me from the burn of nakedness
And for a time, just yours and mine… our hearts hear the tears

For autumn is eternal, the dance of changes smug upon the flame
And clover beds our love in images of tranquil days in distant wane
That what you may forget, these crimson lips have kept
Awakening your call, the spring before the fall, and given as my all

Your whisper guides the blush of ivory dreams

What gives?  The weather,  the heat of a
small but warm fire...a bottle of vintage
wine, now down to it's last drop.  Perhaps
the mail man in his finest togs...??????????

Well?

Sending two fire extinguishers, a ladder
truck and the Sheriff's department.....
Charge of indecent exposure and starting
a fire that will become out of control..

this was amazingly hypnotic and seductive, what I mean to say is...it blends the all of whats meek and right into something beyond comprehension...loved this...well done

There is never a time I visit your post without word play.  The sounds you string impel me to repeat them aloud.  Today's favorite:  "the dance of changes smug upon the flame"

reads like the creation of beauty and Adam and Eve in the "Garden"/beautifully descriptive and smoothly formed. Thank you for sharing and giving me motivation to get to your level of writing. keith

Dear Kathleen, your poetry gladdens me and so often leaves me on the verge of tears.
It is a heartfelt combination, the emotions you bring to the surface.

Just lovely, you~
