in the shadows

0 posted 2005-02-26 11:42 PM

Still,
the old rivers flow quietly
through ancient sands,
in sands of recollection
we are stored patiently
in woven memories,
wrapped in soft breeze nights
we slip again into the Universe
through shadows’ doorways.

Still,
I recall holding hands,
of itself a capital crime,
inhaling courage unafraid
in yasmin scented air
beneath a sharing moon,
staring through your eyes
as muffled sounds of caravans
brought fragile hopes of freedom.

Will
these memories,
alive in me since birth,
continue to be clarified
with every dream of you,
like Spring storm waters
cutting new channels
in the old flood plains
of my soul?

Will
I end this life,
as I have so many,
watching sands of time
be carried off on winds
too strong to be denied,
awaiting every season
always awaiting miracles,
lost in shadows?

This is sad...like a fairy tale...is there ever a happy ever after?  To love a princess, may not be worth the burden that you carry.

perhaps a hunger
satiate
behind the veils
in step of sand
that knows the doubt
so better than
this melodic way
I am
enraptured by a wave
that ends
upon itself
and twirls again
in the endless
grain
refrained
of this
and that
and neverend...

a dreamy eye cast I
to sleep
in prayers
of all my memory
be born as if
they were brand new
damn the sands
and damn you too--
let's roll the thunders home.

"Did I ever mention that I find you very inspirational?" serenity typed brightly.

icebox - many ask the same question but I guess we do have a choice as to how we end our lives.  Excellent write as usual - thanks.

once again, you've left us with a flow of thoughts, dreams, and memories rolled up into a wonderfully written river of words

yes..you invoke such deep, warm thoughts.
