     On the fourteenth,red rosed
    now crepe blackened plum
    blossom plies shy their scroll
    petals dry, edges roll
    humbly
bowing.

                babys breath
          Shouldered
                 the weakened stems
            ‘til miniscule blossoms
    Turned to sand

Dropped on linen

You wrote this beautifully.  A picture of victorian lace, the ageless blooms dried and scattered about the table top.
I love this.

Thanks, TD.

I just can't bare to throw them out,so I brought them into the computer room for a little inspiration! I've never studied the wilted flower much before, but today I find exquisite colorations and textures.

Thank you for your kind response.

Thanks, Dixie.  Writing few words is challenging for me; I'm glad you liked this!

I can never believe if caught in time, how you can preserve the moment of that rose by simply hanging it upside down, and drying it.  I should have thought of that with one husband

Loved the study.

Because you gifted us so well,
accept the applause...

as Mysteria said, this is indeed
a study...and a very good one.

Brava, dear!

Susan and Mysteria,
Thank you for your kindness in response.  I appreciate it very much.

Sunshine,
It seems you're going to provide the roses so that I may keep them fresh for a while longer!  Thank you for the delicate still-life and encouraging note.

I'm glad this one came back up. *S* I have some petals that I sometimes touch... the beauty in their memory will never fade. *S*

This is delicate and eloquent... Beautiful!

Hey miscellanea...this is fan(friggin')tastic! Love it! The economy of words was really well done...none of the meaning was lost in my eyes. This needs a bump back to the top of the page.

Sooner or later ... dust. It's the story of life down here on this beautiful Earth, where divine flowers bloom to make us happy ... some try to preserve the moment's emotion by drying them.

This is perfectly rendered.

Love, Margherita

you show that beauty lasts past the peek,  As if a meadow can be captured and held with sight of the flowers even if snow is on the ground, and the fragrance even if a family of skunks would wander by.
