Sounds Of Refrain

I wait
on the edge of
impatient steps
the up and down
of an un-played
contrasting symphony
tone keyed in
this black and white
imprisoned in a prism
of unknown color
break this silence
rescue me
with the shades
of your song

just some words cut out
from the diary of my heart

the up and down
of an un-played
contrasting symphony

It's coming from so faraway,
it's hard to say for sure
if what I hear is music
or the wind through an open door.

(Lyrics by Jackson Browne)

although, we never forget the song.

your wait is over
eighty-eight black and white keys
are playing our song

harken to the tone
listen to the shades of love
as fingers explore

Fool, said my Muse to me, look in thy heart and write.

Helen- If I hear one more comment about you not liking your writing, I will personally come down there and red this to you over and over and over and over again until you finally realize how good you are at this.

Another masterpiece.
