If I could feel your touch
Warm fingertips upon my cheek,
Instead of bitter cold wind
Frosting every word I speak,
If I could watch your eyes
As you talk of loving warm,
But I squeeze tight my lids
As roof top wind makes snow swarm.
The night of snow ended yet blows
Drifting closed streets after the plow;
I put back my shovel by the door
And leave it blown smooth for now.

Gloom

"If I could feel your touch
Warm fingertips upon my cheek,"

It's there in words for you to feel
to know the touch, the warmth is real.
Into the wind the wanting knows
upon your cheek, your lips expose
a planted kiss in staying wait
in full moon rise the day's create
silly thoughts imagined clear
to decompose the shadow's fear.
It's I, you know, the one who cares
loving you in words, declare.
A simple rhyme, in symbol thought
a lessening of empty sought.
Would I, if I only could
unmask the real, if understood~~

you inspired this day...
