~*~

It was mid October,
long after the roses withered
when daylight ends too soon.
I used to long for those summer afternoons
while pondering the slip of your smile
and the shimmer glisten out at sea.

I've read you over, starting at the end
and found my peace under a cypress tree.
I can hear the sound of your laughter,
the slow and easy rush cascading along the shore,
and I still feel a tingle when the wind blows my way.

You were my prize and simple pleasure,
of sea glass and shells
splayed in the light of day.
You were the gentle sweep high in the sky,
and more.

So like a yellow rose I almost missed,
hidden between the stems
one bloomed today from me to you,
or perhaps the other way around.
Catching my breath between sighs
as each petal in parting falls
and mingles with the ocean air.

When you choose to share your writings,
you manage to gild them in gold.

This is a for several reasons...
one of which is because it comes from you.

Karilea - if I whisper, will you listen?  Keeping in mind, I must stand close...and keep my promises...

I'm right there with latearrival -- some folks are just good to have around.

....some are also beloved, part of the very nature of this place, and everyone knows it...you're one of those.

I could cry with the beauty of your words. You are a poetess through and through. He let the most lovely rose of them all slip away...

I have missed your wonderful poetry and equally wonderful presence!

Hugs with love,

Bluesy,
When reading this aloud, it glides off my tongue.  The gentle imagery takes me there...
Beautiful read.  ONe of my favorites, I believe, but... you've written so many great pieces, it'd be hard to choose for sure!

Good to read your poetry again!

How could I have missed this one?  It's truly lovely, Bluesy! Don't let your pen run out of ink or let talent sit on a shelf because the dryness of dust sits in the throat and halts the expression of soul!
