What’s out there
You don’t want to know
what’s out there

It’s where men
who do good things
come to bad ends

Those that get back
if they do get back
live the rest of their lives
as open wounds

You want to go
be a hero
I won’t stop you

You were warned—

And there are plenty of purple hearts
to go around

I know some of these men... and even though they weren't trying to be heros... you're absolutely right about the results.

And yet there are those who feel obligated
to serve the only country they have...

melting pot that we are.

The story is old....
A love of country, a sense of duty, a strong desire to be of help.....And a young man not yet at his 18th birthday, lives through the battle of Leyte out on the Pacific, a gunner, and never mentions it to any one, his only words, "who wants to remember?" best, marty

war may build a man and may ruin a man but most of all, surly kills man.
