Old Friends and New Lovers

I went to Seal Beach yesterday,
to revisit places I've been before.
Surf Taco was still one of my
favorite places, refreshing my memories
as I walked through the door.
Asada burritos were on my mind,
and just as I thought, the saucy
waitress that used to be mine.
The sawdust still caressed the
hardwood floor, and I could
smell the warm tortillas
and the hot sauce I had
been yearning for.
She welcomed me with open arms,
and she still possessed a
bushel full of silky charms.
The only difference was the
state of mind of her and I,
long ago a change of locations
and new lovers had caught
our eyes.

Visiting California
for a week.
Its raining like
crazy right now,
and I'm missing
my girlfriend
in Hawaii
way too much...

James

Seal Beach is a wonderful place to go, in any weather....but California did step into the wet zone this week.  Perhaps to give you a pretty sunset?

Thank you inkedgoddess, Magnus, Ratleader, Foxyoasis, passing shadows and Martie for the nice responses...its always nice to come back to California because I have so many family members and friends here...I have been here since the 20th and its rained every day, with accompanying floods and mudslides...they say it will be nice until Sunday...James
