And so…

Black spotted bananas stumble through the exam
Like predictions speaking truth
Double-talking installments
Bursting blood vessels
Mirroring glamour
Good God, what's happened to passion?

Breast implants, stamp intellectual levels
Wannabe relationships grow desperate,
I suppose?
Tears already dried on cheeks
Remarkable trends of Hollywood
Hold the world in manic confidence!

I am to pathetic for such exertions
Mystery no longer exists
Fear comes frightfully stylish
In the shelter at night where I sleep

But I did fathom the depth of soul
Spending days by the lake
Sunday morning’s whispering portholes
Mincing steps with time’s windbreaks

Seems like things these days, become more clear
Although it takes some courage to think optimistic
As long as I live, your stories creep down the back steps
Building those traveling dreams with biceps

Blending colors across the forest floor
I look away casually pretending not to lust
CSI explains the bedsores
While sleep takes me back to my lover
Where colors blend away to a sting
In a salt and pepper sea
Reeking of a center island jetty
Where I’m forever subjected to history

And so…

Black spotted bananas stumble through the exam
Like predictions speaking truth
Double-talking installments
Bursting blood vessels
Mirroring glamour
While I slip away into dust
loosing my voice
Like somber flowers living menopause
Writing letter after letter to old friends...
Talking about nothing
Waiting desprately for the end....

Fill those letters with self...
and you leave something behind...

You have such a strong voice, my friend...I can't imagine you ever loosing it, but I do love that line, "somber flowers living menopause"...and I so understand!
