On A Journey To The Unknown

I have been thinking about my little sister, when I wrote this poem. Just thought I would share it with you.

In My Daily Thoughts

I would be the first to admit it
If the things you said were true
As I recall, you got all the praise
In whatever you would do

I never felt like I belonged
Not even in our family
You were the smart one, I was dumb
No matter what I did, you were better than me

When you moved so far away
I held my fears deep down inside
All those emotions I was feeling
I never could confide

I couldn’t help but be afraid
When he took you so far from home
You were five hundred miles away
And, you were all alone

There were so many sleepless nights
From wondering what you were going through
You were always in my daily thoughts
Wishing there was something I could do

There was no way I could protect you
With you living so far away
I made myself sick with so much worry
And wished that you had stayed

Sue, you are expressing your beautiful self with such genuine, and moving writing.

I understand such feelings but we do what we are able to do to help those that we love. The rest is up to them ~ and God.
