In the arms of God...

0 posted 2005-02-18 12:12 PM

I wrote this one for my "Sis" [one of my very best friends and my cousins wife to boot ] a couple weeks ago.  I wanted to post it cause it feels like a while since I have been able to write any thing [although that isn't the case ]...but I felt that she should be the first one to read it since it was for her.

For My "Sister"

When you came into our family,
it seemed you were quite shy.
Our friendship didn’t start right then
and I don’t know why.

We hadn’t found that common thread
that gently binds two souls.
We had much growing yet to do
…we had to become ‘whole’.

There was much ‘weaving’ yet to come
and God was on the case.
He knew just what would bring us close,
there was no time to waste.

He brought our lives through pains and trials
to lead us back to Him.
With that, we found our common ground…
and our friendship could begin.

Since then…

You’ve changed my life in many ways
and all of them are good.
You’ve helped me grow and strengthened me
…and you’ve always understood.

We’ve laughed and cried and shared our hearts,
as sisters often do.
Wonder what I did to deserve
a best friend such as you?

For best friends in sisterhood
I know that we will be…
Even when we have gone Home
into eternity.

So these words I offer you,
the sister of my heart.
For no matter where I am in life
…you’ll always be a part.

The miracle is you're here,
and the miracle is you're loved...
Even if you're the last on earth
you're loved from up above!!

Becka, if you do not mind, I am going to send this to my "ex" sister-in-law...we were related through our husbands being brothers, and we have just recently reconnected in "real time" via internet...

so...I know she'll know I know she knew...

thank you for this....

Hugs, K

Martie...thank you SO much for your sweet comments!  Coming from someone who is able to express herself with such amazing grace and beauty...that means a LOT!  Hugs, m'friend!

MGROVES...thank you...that was very kind of you to say.     Thanks for stopping by and reading my thoughts!

Sweet Sunshine...I consider it an honor that you found something in my words that you felt the need to share with your dear 'sister'!  Please share away!  I am SO glad that you were able to reconnect!  Isn't the internet GREAT!  [Well, it can be anyway, huh?]

iliana...thank you for coming in here to read me!  And you are right...she is a WONDERFUL blessing!  Don't know what I would have done without her over the last couple years...such a gift!  At least now I won't have to know life without her.

marty...Yes, I know the feeling.  Her husband is basically like my brother since my dad more or less took him under his wing after his dad died.  But through this whole process of her and I becoming friends [among many other things in life] he and I have become closer as well - not the way I like to be when it comes to family, but I guess being a boy...they don't want to get too close!     I wouldn't trade her or him for a million dollars!  Thank you for taking the time to read and comment...means a lot!!

The miracle is you're here,
and the miracle is you're loved...
Even if you're the last on earth
you're loved from up above!!
