I watched the sky rewind
and heard the birds
of twilight sing
and gazed out far
through windowed eyes,

in conversation's flight,
the arch above
had morphed from beige
to teal to the bruise of blue,

and climbing trees
sponged up the dark,
becoming lines of black
the falling sky could hang on to,

and then paraded centerstage,

i read a glossary
of possibility,
in the sun's emancipation,
as it slipped behind
this windowed view,

but it died within
the changing hues,

and i realized, love,
i would never
capture you.

It read like an echo to me and echoes come back.

A glowing case in point, when the mind meets the soul and allows

Your gifted prose cuts to the quick and reveals the sinews of emotion laid bare.  Loved this.

Love this. It speaks to my heart. It is a feeling I know well. One that may recede...but never leaves. Yes...well written inkedgoddess.

inkedgoddess,
I love the tones of earth in this, the softness... Yet, I was woven into the cloth of your poem, feeling the teal to bruise of blue.  Beautifully penned, as I've grown to expect from you.
