state of confusion

Baby 81

Abilass,
you are the fount of faith, child.
Now dry, dry-eyed and dressed in blue
and smiling up from your cot:
proof of the infinite Mind.

Plucked from mother’s hands
to skim along on the giant tide,
to slide upon the stick-filled ride,
buoyant above the drowning din.

They gave you a mottu,
a black stain like the clinging mud.
You see the meat and husks of coconuts,
the milk sloshed about shrines?
This is a celebration life twice,
a gift to mother’s arms and father’s pride.

I saw that story yesterday, and wondered which Passionate poet would bring it to the attention in such a way...

I'm glad YOU did!

It was a joyous moment for 81 and family.
And so incredibly sad for all those other 'numbers' who did not have that moment.
A tender passionate write, Corinne.
I still weep for all the lost thousands.
