Gone,

the thick ice
blinds the harbor
from any hint of moon,

no rescue dare come tonight,

the seccession of color
will not part the way
to the locked up sea,

and a requiem plays,
suffocating the stars
that the fainthearted
swallowed,

gone
and unreachable,

in memory now,

to the abyss,
his whereabouts
imparted.

I love the way you tell the story
in your poetry, Michelle. It's beautiful.

swallowed,

sad, but beatifully felt....and the power house sentance in this is

That the fainthearted swallowed...

Beautifully and poignantly painted...

Spinning wildly,
in sweet intoxication
beyond words-
although your cup seems drained,
it is your fullness I feel.

"Gone" yes, but not forgotten...
"in memory now,"

The hold on the harbor is temporary,
ice breaks with the coming of spring
And the moon will glisten diamonds on the waves
Again as if a remembered dream..
and you will go forth renewed
Like the unlocked sea.

enjoyed, inky....

This touches me very much. I'm glad I looked back and found this.
